Yep some thing simple guys no Dio's for a bit, if we can get about 10 members interested we'll go for it so get round your mate get them in signed up and we'll do it.
I have found Armorama Campaigns a bit off, they allow to much in my opinion, and have to many things going on and do you actually win and thing if you take part in there campaigns or is it just a group build the same sort of stuff ?
Hi, A Sherman, Checked my stash, I dont even own one, LOL. I do mostly Axis armor & vehicles. I am going to attend a small local show on the 19th, I'll see if I can find a Sherman at a decent price. A few questions on this.
1. How long will we have to build our project ?
2. Do you have an Idea for a start date or are you waiting to see if there is enough interest ?
Looking forward to this, should be FUN, I have not built a Sherman since I was a kid, many many years ago...LOL I better get my butt in gear, I am working on the Market-Garden Campaign right now and at the present time I have 2 jobs,(workin 60 - 80 hours a week). A Sherman will be a Nice / Fun change of pace for me. milvehfan

O bugger forgotten to post those bits sorry mate,
1 = we will start when we have 8 members up for it.
2 = you will have 50 days to build it,due to the fact you have got to keep a build log with it.
As there out of the box with nothing to add or build for it that should be plenty of time i hope.
I hope I'm doing this right as I'm very computer ul&ter4TE! I would have real problems putting my stuff on the site! There doesn't seem to be many of us at the moment but I would love to have a go at a competition, just to see if my work is any good. I have just sold a dio but I am NOT, repeat, NOT here looking for commissions (I,ve already got some!). Problem is I build in 1/72nd scale and it appears to me that most people are building 1/35th German stuff whereas I like to be on the, ahem, winning side.
We all know the Russians won the second world war, followed by the Americans. What is often forgotten is that it was the Brits that stood against the Nazi tyranny, alone, for two years until, as goood old Winnie said, the " new world came to the rescue of the old." (paraphrase!)
Projects I have recently had a stab at;
Airfix Buffalo-scrathbuilt Polsten cannon and cargo
Airfix Bedford RAF tanker to GS truck-scratchbuilt
Airfix Matador Truck with scratchbuilt Dorchester ACV body.
Totally scratchbuilt Hotel, Office and Factory (three seperate projects) suitable for my future diorama ideas.
I'm currently working on a dio with a shelled building, two vehicles and three or four figures for a "customer" and have some work coming up for a railway modeller.
I would not claim to be a second Steve Saloga but I like what I do and am absolutely amazed that others do too. What I really need is for other modelmakers to see what I do and criticise it.
If I ever learn to take pictures of what I do and publish them I would be grateful for you guys out there to look at it and say; "You are rubbish Faulkner" or "Well, not bad but you got the uniform shades wrong."

Hey Monty, Your not the only computer illeterate on here. I also have big problems with this electronic stuff, but I keep tryin..LOL. Sounds like you have some interesting build/projects going on. Maybe , Trackpad will include 1/72 and 1/48th scale in a build competion. It would be cheaper for me to go out and purchase a smaller scale Sherman for this build, but for now 1/35th is the subject. I am hopeing to trade for a Sherman at an upcoming show I will attend on the 19th. Hope to see some of your projects on here soon. Keep on Modelin..milvehfan

Hi Monty
Welcome to the site, I for one will be very intersted in seeing your work.
Alex I have a slight problem with the from the box rules, No nothing wrong with it at all, just I have loads of Sherman kits and bits in numerous boxes in both small scale and 1/35th, and cant recall what comes with what kit. LOL.
Seriously though I will try to take part, and will try and build something from the box, Trouble is all my Part built ones have been done for display and included extras.
One project I have on the go at present is a M4A2 76mm Soviet Tank, this is pretty straight from the box kit by DML in 1/72nd scale, but with the turret corrected and detailed, along with scratchbuilt stowage, would this be able to be entered.
Cheers
Ian
